Vision difficulties and blindness are no barrier to using the Web anymore
People who are blind or whose vision is severely impaired can use the Internet to find job vacancies thanks to a new software program called pwWebSpeak. This nifty application reads aloud the text displayed on your computer screen. It can also display Web sites in very large type. pwWebSpeak works with most computer hardware and does not require an expensive speech synthesizer. It can work with the relatively inexpensive speech synthesizer called SoftVoice.
You can download a sample copy of pwWebSpeak at Internet URL: http://www.prodworks.com or get more information by calling the manufacturer, The Productivity Works, at 609/9848044 in Trenton, NJ. Individuals with vision impairments can obtain pwWebSpeak for free, with a $50 charge for technical support. Others must pay for the software.
